Using my engineering for band

So I haven't been blogging for a while. I might have died down in part to having my laptop stolen last winter in Chicago. Well I'm typing this on a new netbook I just got and that may change. It is pretty easy to take with me and might warrant more posts in the future.

Anyways, I am really happy and excited today. I just found out that my proposal was accepted for doing a term project that will also be a service project to the band. This is a really fantastic opportunity and I am really looking forward to learning in my class in this manner.

I'm taking IE 366 or Work Engineering. It is class that focuses on designing processes and facilities to best serve a worker. It is so far an exciting class as we getting to put a lot of what we learn into practice.

The project is to help streamline and create a better environment for all the music preparation that happens in the band office--especially for the marching band season. This is usually a task that takes lots off people and time. Music has to be inventoried, copied, trimmed, sorted, and disbursed.

One highlight about doing this project is that our professor is excited about it as well since he is a trombone player.

I can't wait to get going on the project!
